Digital Marketing

1. Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing (SMM) is a type of Internet marketing that involves using social networking websites to promote brands and businesses. Most social media platforms have built-in tools that allow companies and individuals to set up accounts, build audiences and measure results. To comply with regulations established in Europe and North America, many SMM practitioners obtain consent from web users prior to collecting personal information. As social networks have become central to people’s lives, marketers have taken advantage of them by targeting different demographics and market segments.

2. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine’s unpaid (“organic”) search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the list of search results), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users; these visitors may click the link to visit the site. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, video search, academic research, news search and industry specific vertical search engines.

3. Email Marketing

Email marketing is a method of promoting products and services to consumers via email. Marketers often use email to send targeted advertisements to previous customers, current customers may be sent special offers and promotions, while non-customers may be sent advertising for related products and/or services based on their browsing habits. Email marketing is sometimes considered spam if sent unsolicited, although it is possible for emails promoted through major online retailers to earn industry awards as ‘best business’ email.

4. Content Marketing

Content marketing is essentially marketing content produced by organizations to attract potential clients. Content marketing includes a wide variety of promotional tactics, including articles, reports, guides, white papers, infographics, videos, podcasts, ebooks, and blog posts. These forms of content are designed to connect with individual audiences to encourage brand awareness, generate leads, and drive sales.

5. Mobile Marketing

Mobile marketing is defined as “a marketing technique where messages about products and services are delivered through mobile devices such as smartphones, feature phones, tablets, laptop computers and even television sets.” Mobile marketing techniques are highly effective due to high smartphone penetration throughout the world, along with increasing usage of smart TVs and tablet computers. However, only 9% of small businesses utilize mobile marketing strategies.

6. Pay Per Click Advertising

Pay per click (PPC) advertising is firstly the process of generating traffic to your website. PPC ads are paid advertisements that appear at the top or right side of search engine results pages. Advertisers bid on keywords relevant to their ad campaign and pay only when their ad is clicked.

7. Conversion Rate Optimization

Conversion rate optimization (CRO) is the practice of modifying elements of a webpage layout, copy, images, links, etc., to increase conversion rates. CRO applies to both desktop and mobile webpages, and is especially important for digital commerce sites.
